Writing Portfolio Reflections
(Form 2- PEGASUS 7 Trimesters III and PEGASUS 8 Trimester I)
You will continue to write a reflection about each item you put into your digital portfolio. Take time to select your pieces carefully and really think about what these examples of your work show about you, what you have learned, and the skills you are developing. The guidelines below explain the types of information you should include when writing your reflections.
Guidelines
Begin with a heading which includes:
Grade 7 or 8
Trimester
Date Entered
The title of the item
The class, exhibition, etc. for which it was completed
The reflection question addressed
Next, begin your paragraph with a description of the piece and its elements. This description should be between two and four sentences long.
Then explain how the piece is a good example of the given skill and shows your improvement in developing this skill. In other words, how is this work better than the work you did in the past? What progress are you making? You should write at least 4 sentences about the skill and your growth in developing it.
Select one of the NEW reflection questions from below and answer it. Your answer should be a minimum of three sentences in length. Do not pick the same question each time.
***New** Reflection Questions
- What did I do well that I want people to notice?
- What content knowledge from class was important to complete this task?
- What would I do differently when completing the work if I had a task like this again?
- How could I improve this work?
