Welcome to my digital portfolio!

My name is Jacqueline Esmay and I am a senior in the PEGASUS 10-12 Program at La Salle Academy.

The PEGASUS program is a program offered to honors students at La Salle Academy who hold a grade point average of above an 85. The acronym PEGASUS stands for: Program that Enhances the Gifts, Aptitudes and Skills of Unique Students. Each student is offered the opportunity to produce a project of any sort and present it to an audience at the end of the academic school year. Perhaps the best way to describe this is as an “independent investigation.”

Each PEGASUS student is required to fulfill a community outreach project and an academic competition. I have participated in the National French Exam and LaSalle’s spaghetti bridge competition. Also, I work a lot with The Little Sisters of the Poor, by working at their St. Patty’s Day fundraiser, attending their Senior Prom, working in their kitchen, and donating food to their Bizarre.

When I began PEGASUS in tenth grade, I did not know what I wanted to focus my project on. That year I made a list of political and moral issues with my partner, Tara, and chose the topic of animal shelters.

In eleventh grade I knew how I wanted to focus the project. I had decided I wanted to learn about architecture, and eventually major in architecture. My partner from the previous year, Tara, was onboard with the project and we invited a new member of the Pegasus program, Cameron, into the group. This year, as a senior I will continue my architecture education.

Thank you so much! Enjoy!

Sincerely,

Jacqueline Esmay
